The movie, iGo To Japan drew 7.6 million viewers, a network record for a live-action television movie for Nickelodeon. The movie, which followed the exploits of iCarly (Miranda Cosgrove) and her friends as they travel oversees to attend a Web-based awards show, also broke ratings records among kids 2-11 (4.3 million) and K2-11 (3.6 million).

Following iGo To Japan, Nickelodeon’s original series debut of True Jackson, VP drew an additional 4.8 million viewers. The series stars Keke Palmer as an enterprising 15-year old that gets tapped to head the youth division of Mad Style, a major fashion label.

iGo To Japan was the most watched entertainment show for the week of Nov. 3 to Nov. 9, but it finished a distant 15^th as cable network news coverage of the Nov. 4 presidential election dominated the weekly ratings race.

Out of the blue, Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) and Sam (Jennette McCurdy) get an invite to some Webcast awards show in Japan, where they’ve been asked to compete in a best skit dance-off.

Carly’s big brother, Spencer (Jerry Trainor), gets the gang tickets on an air freighter to fly over there, but the girls and cameraman-producer, Freddie (Nathan Kress) learn the hard way that some others want to win the big competition, too. There’s lots of mud, yelling, silly, improbable physical comedy and enough sight gags to satisfy even 13-year-olds.

Adults might be surprised to learn that the kids’ TV world is a dog-eat-dog, kick-butt place where the losers slink off, never to be heard from again. And the winners … well, the winners become Miley Cyrus.

It’s a wilder, more vital world than even prime time, and the targets are kids.

Nickelodeon has confirmed that American Idol runner-up David Archuleta will feature in an episode of iCarly.

The 16 year old singer will play a role very familiar to him, as a contestant on a talent show named America Sings.

The episode in which he will appear has been named as ‘iRocked The Vote’, and is expected to be shown on Nickelodeon in Spring 2009.

David’s debut album ‘David Archuleta’ will be released on November 11th.

The superbly named SPANKING SHAKESPEARE is based on the book by eighth-grade teacher Jake Wizner, and centers centers on Shakespeare Shapiro, who chronicles every mortifying detail of his quest to get into college and find a girlfriend in his memoir — a writing project that every high school senior must complete.

So really, nothing to do with Shakespeare at all then.

The film will be released by Paramount through their Nickelodeon Films banner.

Six fifth and sixth graders and six delegates sat at long desks on opposite ends of a stage and a host asked political trivia questions, game show style. The questions ranged from the color of the flag to the year the Constitution was written, but all were based on politics. The “studio audience” consisted of more students from the Oak Grove School in Bloomington, all of whom were very excited to be there.

The first round flew by, with every question accurately answered by both teams, resulting in a tie. Then the second ‘lightning’ round began in the same fashion. But then questions became harder and harder and mistakes were eventually made. The final score was Delegates 250, Kids 220, but both teams were pleased with the end result.

The goal was not so much competition as it was to demonstrate the need for kids to have political knowledge, according to Ben Starfeldt, 11, of Bloomington.

“Because only in a couple of years, seven for most of us, we’re going to be voting and we need to know about that stuff so we can make the right choice,” he said.

Another contestant, Michael Reinhardt, 12, of Bloomington, agreed.

“We’re going to be the kids voting and we need to know how the government works and make the right choice,” Reinhardt said.

Delegate Michael Botello, of Glastonbury, Connecticut, said he enjoyed squaring off against the kids, and feels it is important for youth to become educated about the political process.

“I have two sons, actually at home, eight-years-old and twelve-years-old, and I love history…and majored in it in college and so I try to impart that. I think that it is very important youth in America are interested in history, the founding of our country, civics, and I think it’s very important that kids appreciate that,” he said.

The Mall of America donated a total of $750 to Oak Grove Middle School in the participants’ honor.

“We wanted to do something fun, a fun event for the Republican National Convention here in town that also stressed education and we have great partners,” said Dan Jasper, director of public relations with the Mall of America. “We have a great school system here in Bloomington, Minnesota, the Bloomington Schools and they have just wonderful kids and teachers and we thought what a better way to do it then to pair some Bloomington School kids against some RNC delegates and test their knowledge.”

Jabari Lawrence, 10, of Eagan, Minnesota, was another young contestant. He apparently already is very politically aware.

“I thought it would be kind of cool to stump the Republicans because I don’t like Republicans, I’m a Democrat,” he answered.

Jamie Lynn Spears has had it - and she’s now staying with her mom, Lynne.

After learning of Casey Aldridge’s alledged affair, Jamie Lynn took Maddie and headed to Lynne’s house in Louisiana.

Casey still denies the affair with 28-year-old Kelli Dawson, saying that she made it up to make some money.
